 Odaiyappa College of Engg & Technology (If you aim to build a promising future) Theni is the Captial of Theni District. Periyar river runs through the district. Vaigai dam is constructed in the district to store water of Periyar and Vaigai river. Theni weekly market is the second biggest market in Tamilnadu.To change this agriculture district into an industrial district, OCET was started 4 km away from Theni town by Dr.O.Sambandam, world 37th level cardiologist , USA with Mr.O.Rm. Odaiyappa Chettiar, Theni Chamber of commerce President for more than 50 years and Dr.O.Kannappan, former Chairman of Theni Allinagaram Municipality.

Eligibility for Admission:
As prescribed by Govt of Tamilnadu and Anna University, 35% seats will be filled by Management and 65% seats will be filled under Single Window System by counselling. Students with Maths, Physics, and Chemistry in +2 examination, Maths with Vocational Group are eligible to get admission in BE course. Students who have finished polytechnic are eligible for II year admission in the respective branch. If they want to change the branch, they have to get admission in first year.
